What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching is a partnership that helps people clarify what matters, set realistic goals, and build lasting habits for better overall health.
Key points:
Client-led goals: You choose what to work on—stress, movement, nutrition, sleep, weight, relationships, or energy.
Values-based: Goals are tied to your values so changes feel meaningful and stick.
Behavior tools: Coaches use motivational interviewing, SMART goal-setting, action plans, habit building, accountability, and relapse prevention.
Whole-person view: Coaching looks at sleep, movement, nutrition, stress, relationships, environment, and mindset together.
Collaborative support: Coaches listen without judging, offer structure, and help you take charge.
Measurable steps: Coaches help you make small, clear actions, track progress, and adjust plans as needed.
What coaching is not:
Therapy or medical care: It focuses on future action and doesn’t replace psychotherapy or medical treatment.
Dietitian/medical advice: Coaches don’t diagnose or prescribe; they support behavior change and collaborate with health professionals.
Quick fixes or one-size-fits-all plans: Coaching promotes gradual, lasting change tailored to each person’s values and life.
Who benefits:
People who want lasting health changes, need help overcoming obstacles, and want to create realistic, sustainable habits that fit their values.
How my journey began
My health and wellness have always mattered to me, but for a long time they weren’t my top priority. I tended to put other people’s needs and daily demands ahead of my own, convincing myself I could always catch up later, only to realize that postponing self-care made it harder to find balance and feel my best.
Living that way eventually took its toll — by 2022 I was stressed, overweight, exhausted, sleepless, and dealing with chronic inflammation and hormone imbalances. I realized I needed durable, meaningful changes instead of quick fixes. So I began making small, gradual adjustments to daily habits, paying attention to what actually worked for my life, and steadily building on those wins.
After learning to be honest and true to myself, I felt called to help others find their own power to change. I became a certified health and wellness coach through MindBodyGreen, and I’m excited to support people as they discover what’s possible for their own health and well-being.
